About Us
My name is Lee-Anne and I am one of the founding Directors of Wellswood Skin Care, a family-owned company. Wellswood Skin Care was born from the development of our flagship product,
Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy.
Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy was developed out of necessity. Whilst I was going through a very challenging and difficult time in my life I developed severe dermatitis on my hands. The skin on my hands were very dry, inflamed, crack and bleeding. It was painful, very uncomfortable and embarrassing. The doctors prescribed and recommended many different creams and ointments, but they were oily and greasy and didn’t work. It was really affecting my quality of life and the doctors were concerned that I was at risk of infection.
So, I decided to draw on my pharmacological
background to develop a product to help treat my skin.
I was able to develop Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy because I have the required academic
qualifications and a biomedical background with more than 20 years of experience working in
pharmaceuticals, hospitals and healthcare in general. I spent many months researching various
powerful skincare ingredients. After more than 18 months of trialling different formulations, I finally
had a formulation that which was not only natural but also healed my skin. I do not have any scars
from where the cracks in my skin used to be and my skin is now soft and smooth.
Our Intensive Skin Therapy cream is lovingly crafted from a scientific blend of New Zealand’s natural
and powerful ingredients, enriched with Manuka Honey UMF 20+, pure New Zealand Lanolin and
Vitamin E oil. Manuka Honey with a UMF 20+ has very powerful antibacterial, antiviral and
antifungal properties. The Lanolin and Vitamin E oil are very potent moisturisers and help in skin healing. It is designed to moisturise, nourish, restore, and rejuvenate dry, damaged and inflamed
skin.
Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy is free from corticosteroids and is drug-free. At Wellswood we
believe what you leave out is just as important as what you put into a skincare product. This is why
Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy is paraben, sulphate, phthalates, colour and fragrance-free!
Following the success with my own skin I started giving people with various skin problems samples
of Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy to try. We have had phenomenal feedback of our skin therapy
having amazing results where people have used it for eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, wounds, ulcers, burns
and even with chemotherapy to treat the dry, inflamed and painful skin cancer therapy patients
experience on their hands and feet.
Wellswood® Intensive Skin Therapy helped to give me my quality of life back. I understand that
having problematic skin conditions can be incredibly challenging, debilitating and embarrassing,
therefore my desire is to help as many people as I can to also experience symptomatic relief and
healing of their skin. This is why my family and I decided to launch Wellswood Skin Care.
